The Hama Bachama and Chairman of the Bachama Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty Homun Dr Daniel Ismaila Shaga, OON, stated that the Boys' Brigade is a foundational training ground for moulding young men.
The royal father emphasised that a child's foundation is key to societal development.
He made these pronouncements while receiving the National President of the Boys' Brigade Nigeria (BBN), Professor Engineer Samson Duna, on a courtesy visit to his palace in Numan.
The Hama Bachama informed the National President of his commitment to the BB's development since joining the organisation in the 1970s.
He stressed that the training young men receive in the BB qualifies them for enlistment in paramilitary or military service in the country.
He encouraged the BB officers to continue imparting knowledge to the young men in the organisation. He also challenged the church to be a moral compass for the world, inspiring emulation from non-believers.
He called on believers to continue praying for peace and peaceful coexistence within the Church and the country at large.
The National President of the Boys' Brigade Nigeria, Professor Engineer Samson Duna, thanked His Royal Majesty, Homun Dr Daniel Ismaila Shaga, for accepting the Boys' Brigade Nigeria, Adamawa State Council, to host the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the BB's establishment in Numan.
According to the National President, Adamawa has roughly 10 out of the over 50 active National patrons of the BBN. He described the patrons in Adamawa State as highly supportive.
He rated the performances of the Adamawa State Council at the National level as very good. He maintained that the state council consistently performs excellently, whether in BB week collections or Bible Quiz Competitions at national levels.
He revealed that the BB's purpose is to train boys to become God-fearing young men.
He said that the Boys' Brigade has shaped many Nigerians who are now serving the country in various capacities.
He appealed to the relevant authorities to consider recruiting eligible BB members into the paramilitary or military due to the training they receive in the BB.
Earlier, the President of the Adamawa State Council of the Boys' Brigade Nigeria, Mr Geoffrey Simon Kula, thanked the Hama Bachama for his support in ensuring the success of the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the establishment of the Boys' Brigade in Adamawa.
He explained that the purpose of the National President of the Boys' Brigade Nigeria's visit to the Hama Bachama's palace was to express gratitude to the royal father for his unwavering support for the Boys' Brigade.
