Governor Fintiri, speaking at the commissioning ceremony, emphasised the project's significance and reiterated his commitment to delivering world-class healthcare to the state's citizens.
He acknowledged the challenges residents previously faced in accessing medical services, highlighting this as a key driver behind the centre's establishment.
The Governor stressed that the MCRP's contribution, intended to cater for those with serious injuries and reduce the need for citizens to seek medical treatment overseas, would be complemented by ongoing government support for the facility.
"Let me reiterate my administration's unwavering commitment to providing our citizens with world-class healthcare services," Governor Fintiri declared. "We will achieve this through adequate funding, the provision of modern facilities, investment in well-trained personnel, the creation of a conducive environment for healthcare workers, and the implementation of people-centred policies that form the cornerstone of our government."
He underlined that the Trauma Centre aligns perfectly with the core objectives of the state's transformation agenda, as outlined in the Strategic Health Development Plan.
He pledged his administration's continued dedication to this project throughout his remaining term in office.
Dr. Maurice Vunobolki, the MCRP's state project coordinator, explained that the project is a community-focused recovery and development programme designed to bring stability and support to areas ravaged by the Boko Haram crisis. He elaborated that the project is equipped to handle a broad spectrum of medical emergencies and forms part of a wider intervention encompassing 18 primary healthcare centres and five secondary facilities across Mubi, Michika, Garkida, and Maiha Local Government Areas.
Dr. Vunobolki further noted the project's provision of essential drugs and consumables to over 20 healthcare facilities throughout the state.
The District Head of Yadafa, representing His Royal Highness Abubakar Isa Ahmadu, the Emir of Mubi, joined other speakers in expressing appreciation to the MCRP and Governor Fintiri for their positive contributions to Mubi's healthcare landscape.
