Adamawa State is set to host the 2024 National Association of Nigerian Accountants' (ANAN) Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) programme. This follows the success and support provided by the Adamawa State government under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri when the state hosted the 2019 ANAN's MCPD programme.
This was revealed during a courtesy call by the Adamawa Branch of the ANAN on Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Tuesday at Government House, Yola.
Addressing members of the ANAN, comprising the Adamawa State Branch Executive Committee (EXCO) and national delegations, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri pledged to provide maximum support to the ANAN in the state to ensure the successful hosting of the MCPD programme.
Governor Fintiri expressed his pride in ANAN and commended the association for upholding transparency, which he emphasised has led to a reduction in visits by anti-graft agencies to the state.
He stated that the doors of his government are always open to supporting future ANAN events and any other association that will bring meaningful development to the state.
Highlighting the reason for their courtesy call, the Adamawa State Branch Chairman of ANAN, Titus Obadiah, explained that they were at Government House, Yola, to convey the congratulations of their national headquarters to Governor Fintiri on his emergence as Governor of Adamawa following his affirmation by the Supreme Court after a series of court cases that followed the 2023 gubernatorial election in Adamawa.
He said Governor Fintiri's re-election was a resounding affirmation of the people's belief in his good governance.
Mr Obadiah commended Governor Fintiri for his perseverance in overcoming the challenges he faced upon assuming office.
He emphasised that the state ANAN would provide maximum support to the Governor Fintiri-led administration to succeed in all its developmental projects.
The Chairman of the Adamawa State Branch of ANAN praised Governor Fintiri for appointing a number of its members to his administration in various capacities.
He announced that the national council of the Association of Nigerian Accountants of Nigeria had approved Adamawa State to host its Mandatory Continuing Professional Development programme from 1 to 3 July 2024. He expressed appreciation to Governor Fintiri for his support in hosting the 2019 MCPD programme and requested the same level of support for the 2024 programme.
