Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri offered condolences on the passing of Baba Ndatam Wesley Fwa, who was born on 13 November 1940 and died at Absolute Care Hospital in Jimeta-Yola on 31 May 2024 at the age of 84.
Governor Fintiri, along with his Deputy Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta, Chief of Staff Government House Yola Dr Edgar Amos and other Government officials, visited the family home at Upper Luggere in the state capital to pay their respects.
Governor Fintiri expressed his sorrow, stating that Mr. Fwa's death is a significant loss to the family, the Mbula Chiefdom, and the entire state.
He acknowledged that the deceased's experience would be deeply missed, particularly during this crucial time for the state and country.
The Governor encouraged the family to find comfort in their faith and emulate the positive qualities of their late father and brother.
On behalf of himself and the government, Governor Fintiri offered his condolences and prayers for peace for Baba Wesley's soul.
Responding for the family, the deceased's brother, Al'ajibi Fwa, expressed gratitude to the Governor and his staff for their support during their difficult time. He wished the Governor success in his future endeavors.
The late Baba Prince Ndatam Wesley Fwa, a retired civil servant, was drafted into the Nigerian army in 1967 and served in the Nigerian Civil War. He later joined the Nigerian Police Force and retired in 1984.
In 1985, the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria appointed him as the Secretary-Organizer of the Boys' Brigade for the denomination. He held this position until 1998.
The late Baba Prince Ndatam Wesley Fwa is survived by his wife, six children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements for late Baba Wesley Ndatam Fwa have been released by the family.
A wake will be held on Friday, June 7th, 2024, at the family residence on Owere Street, Upper Luggere, Jimeta-Yola.
The burial service will take place on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, at Mbula Kuli in Demsa Local Government Area.
