Governor Fintiri Presides over Swearing-in of Special Adviser for UBE and Education Development

Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, presided over the swearing-in of his Special Adviser on Universal Basic Education (UBE) and Education Development, Dr Salihi Ibrahim Ateeku.

The ceremony, held on Tuesday at Government House Yola, is part of Governor Fintiri's administration's efforts to appoint capable individuals who will revitalise the education sector.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Fintiri expressed confidence in Dr Ateeku's ability to deliver on his assignment, citing the Adviser's extensive experience.

He urged Dr Ateeku to bring about changes that will mould children into responsible leaders of tomorrow.

The Governor further tasked the appointee with taking immediate action to initiate change in UBE and education development within the state.

Governor Fintiri emphasised the importance of UBE in educational development and noted Dr Ateeku's competence in handling the role.

The Governor described Dr Ateeku as a respected individual and charged him to maintain that reputation while fulfilling his responsibilities.

Governor Fintiri disclosed that his administration is working tirelessly to ensure that its policies and programmes will be the foundation for the continued support of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the next election.

In his acceptance speech, the Special Adviser to Governor Fintiri on Universal Basic Education (UBE) and Education Development, Dr Salihi Ibrahim Ateeku, thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for appointing him to serve the state.

He expressed his surprise upon learning of his appointment as Special Adviser to the Governor.

Dr Ateeku pledged to utilise his 42 years of experience in colleges and universities to ensure meaningful development in UBE.

He revealed that he has already begun his duties as Special Adviser by consulting with relevant stakeholders.

Dr Ateeku assured Governor Fintiri that he will not disappoint the confidence placed in him by the appointment.

The oath of office and secrecy was administered to Dr Salihi Ibrahim Ateeku by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Afraimu Jingi.
