President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of retired Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hashimu Argungu as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
In a press statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, it was announced that the President has also approved the appointments of Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and retired DIG Taiwo Lakanu as a Member of the Commission.
Chief Ngelale revealed that the appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
He further disclosed that other members of the Police Service Commission will be appointed in due course.
According to the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the President has also approved the immediate appointment of Mr Mohammed Sheidu as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF).
President Tinubu expects all appointees to demonstrate absolute integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in discharging these important functions for the overall well-being of the Nigerian Police Force and the nation.
