The Honorable Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Ibrahim Mijinyawa, has called on contractors handling the construction of Model Nursery, Primary, and Junior Secondary Schools in Adamawa State to accelerate their work. He issued a stern warning that failure to do so would result in prompt action.
Commissioner Mijinyawa made this statement during a meeting with contractors from all 21 Local Government Areas on Thursday. The meeting took place at the Deputy Governor's Office Conference Hall.
He emphasized that the Fintiri administration is committed to development and expects all stakeholders to contribute to the state's progress. He urged the contractors to ensure that the projects deliver tangible benefits to the people of Adamawa.
The Commissioner also instructed the contractors to justify the funds allocated by the state government for these projects.
In response, Mr. Donaldson Ahindi, the chairman of indigenous contractors, promised significant progress within two months. He encouraged his fellow contractors to maintain the trust placed in them by the state government.
Mr. Ahindi expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's administration for the opportunity to participate in state projects and urged his colleagues to uphold the high standards expected.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Local Government Affairs, Comrade Musa Abbas Kiri (Jarma Shelleng), concluded the meeting by thanking the contractors for their attendance. He reminded them to adhere to the agreed standards and maintain professionalism.
