Governor Ahamdu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has announced plans to overhaul the administrative structure and welfare of traditional institutions in the state. Recognizing the significant role of District Heads at the grassroots, Governor Fintiri expressed concern over the lack of clarity in their current roles and responsibilities.
During a meeting with a delegation of District Heads at Government House Yola, the Governor emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens. He stressed that the effectiveness of traditional leaders is crucial to achieving this goal.
Governor Fintiri outlined plans for comprehensive reforms, including capacity-building workshops for District Heads and improvements in their remuneration and welfare. He also highlighted the need to address the challenges faced by their staff.
The Governor warned against the dangers of unregulated mining activities in the state, urging District Heads to be vigilant against intruders. He emphasized the importance of implementing strict regulations to prevent security threats associated with illegal mining.
Governor Fintiri called on District Heads to collaborate closely with newly elected local government officials to promote development and ensure effective governance.
The delegation of District Heads, led by Mustafa Mohammad Sanusi of Duhu, expressed their gratitude for the Governor's commitment to their welfare and pledged their unwavering support.
They praised his policies and programs aimed at improving the lives of Adamawa residents.
