In a radical overhaul, the UEFA Champions League is set to undergo its most significant transformation in decades. Starting from the 2024-25 season, the competition will feature a revamped format, designed to create a more intense and competitive experience.

League Phase and Knockout Stages

The traditional group stage will be replaced by a single 36-team league phase. Teams will face each other both home and away, with the top eight sides qualifying directly for the round of 16. The remaining teams will compete in knockout round play-offs to secure their place in the latter stages.

Key Dates and Draws

The league phase matches will take place between September 2024 and January 2025, with knockout rounds scheduled for February, March, April, and May. The highly anticipated final will be held at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

The draws for the league phase will be conducted on August 29th, with subsequent draws for the knockout stages taking place throughout the season.
