A 19-year-old man, Aliyu Yaro, has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for the alleged murder of his newborn son.

The incident occurred in Kwacham, Mubi, in Northern part of Adamawa State of Nigeria, three days after the baby's birth. Yaro, the father of the child, confessed to the crime during questioning by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje.
According to Yaro, his girlfriend, Safiya, had threatened to harm or abandon the baby if he did not take responsibility. Feeling pressured, he agreed to care for the infant. However, after feeding the child, he discovered the baby had passed away.

Yaro then made the tragic decision to dispose of the body by burying it in Girpata, Mubi.

According to the State Police Command PPRO, the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter and has transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further inquiry and subsequent prosecution.
