The Adamawa State Christian pilgrims have offered prayers for the peace and development of Adamawa State and Nigeria at several important holy sites in Israel and Jordan.
In the Old City of Jerusalem, prayers were offered at the sites of important Christian events on Mount Zion. These include the Last Supper of Jesus with his disciples, and the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples in the form of tongues of fire, both events believed to have taken place at the Cenacle. The site where Jesus appeared before the high priest Caiaphas, who conspired to have Jesus killed, is believed to be where the Church of St Peter in Gallicantu stands today. The Church of the Dormition, as its name suggests, commemorates the "falling asleep" of the Virgin Mary on Mount Zion.
While in Jericho, the oldest city in the world, located in the West Bank near Jerusalem, the pilgrims prayed on the Mount of Temptation, the site where Jesus Christ was tempted by the devil after fasting for forty days and forty nights.
Similarly, the pilgrims prayed at the Wailing Wall, also known as the Western Wall, in the Old City of Jerusalem, a place of prayer and pilgrimage sacred to the Jewish people. It is the only remaining part of the retaining wall surrounding the Temple Mount. 
The pilgrims visited the Dead Sea, which is believed to have healing properties for skin diseases.
On another visit to holy sites in Jordan, the Adamawa State pilgrims, who were denied visas to enter Israel by the embassy, visited the Red Sea, where Moses divided the sea to allow the Israelites to cross. They also visited the Ottoman Palace, a location linked to the early Church after the death of Jesus Christ, and the Aqaba Church, recognised as the first church in the world.
Sharing his experience of the visits to the Holy Land, the leader of the government delegation, Murum Mbula, HRM Bwaltam Bentley Biyapo, said the experience had been very good and had strengthened their faith, enabling them to accept what they read in the scriptures.
"The experience has been wonderful with the people; we see how happy they are because it has built their faith, and the programme has been very successful," HRM Biyapo said.
"I am here to ensure that things go according to plan, and so far, no major issues have been encountered."
He thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the service provided by bringing the Christian faithful to the Holy Land. He announced that they had prayed for the Governor, the state and the nation.
Also sharing their experiences after visiting the holy sites, Bishop Shadrach Theophilus (Chairman of the Adamawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board), Geoffrey Garba (Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board), Dean Rev Dr Othiel Erimas (Chairman of the CCN), Dr Stephen Maduwa, Mrs Happy Nuhu, Kefas William, Rev. Richard Kodeke, Sunday Haruna, Asabe Benjamin Drambi, and Angelina Emmanuel said their faith had been strengthened by seeing the historical holy sites they had read about in the scriptures.,
The Adamawa State Christian Pilgrims will continue their tour of the Holy Sites in Israel with a visit to Galilee.
