A big fire broke out last night at the State Specialist Hospital in Jimeta-Yola, Adamawa. This is the second time this has happened, which is very worrying. The hospital has important medical equipment that could be damaged.
The governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, went to the hospital to see the damage and said he was very concerned.
He said "the hospital is important for everyone and must be safe". The governor asked people to be careful and tell the police if they see anything suspicious.
Even though the fire caused a lot of damage, the state government is still committed to providing good healthcare.
The Health Commissioner, Felix Tangwami, said that the fire will not stop important medical services.
The governor was with his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, and the Secretary to the State Government, Barr Auwal D Tukur.
